Meet a Mom: Meet Jasmine | Ocean County Moms

Meet Jasmine, this hard working mom is a Certified Wedding and Event Planner, Owner of Let it be Lovely Events and Let it Be a Party  Retail Shop.  Jasmine moved to Southern Ocean County in 2014 and loves growing her family and establishing roots here.

Child(ren) and Age(s)?

We currently have one son, named Chase. He is a spunky and loveable 2 ½ year old that makes life so much fun.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

Most people that I work with now had no idea I was the Head Cheerleading Coach at Princeton University for 11 years. Cheering has been a lifelong passion of mine so it absolutely killed me to retire but I know it was best for my family and my career. I still keep in touch and visit as much as I can. They know I’ll always be their biggest fan!

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

First and foremost is my husband, Randy. We truly are an amazing team together, and I couldn’t imagine being on this journey without him by my side. He wants to be as involved as humanly possible and does an amazing job sharing in all of the responsibilities and the fun!

We also couldn’t do what we do without the help of my mom and my in-laws. They step in to watch Chase and keep him busy on a regular basis. We know he is safe and so loved in their care.

Lastly, my cousins. I don’t have any sisters and neither do any of my female cousins so we truly have an extra special bond. I can’t thank them enough for being the guinea pigs and having kids first so I can learn their ways. They have been an amazing support system every step of the way!

Favorite things to do with your son ?

I think my new favorite moment has just recently started every night. After Randy and I go through the nightly bath, books, and kisses routine together with him, Chase and I have a few quiet minutes alone snuggled in the dark on the chair in his room. It is supposed to be quiet, calming time before he hops in bed but he usually breaks the silence with the most random things that are on his mind. Sometimes he wants to sing, or rub his feet or tell me some crazy fictitious story but these are the moments I will treasure forever.
Of course dance parties in the kitchen, breakfast dates, beach days, and any time we get to spend together without distractions all come in a close second!

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world?

I am a Certified Wedding and Event Planner and Owner of Let it be Lovely Events (letitbelovelyevents.com). We have also recently expanded and opened up a retail shop called Let it be a Party (letitbeaparty.com). Our goal is to help everyone achieve their desired look of an event without breaking the bank. Whether they need someone do the setup for a baptism party, plan an entire wedding, or just want to pick up balloons for a fundraiser, we are here to make it happen with style and grace. We want visitors to walk in as a customer but walk out as a friend, feeling that we provide services and products that they can trust.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

I have recently joined the Southern Ocean Chamber of Commerce and it has been like no other. There are a ton of local business owners hustling & bustling just like myself. It has been a great way to support each other and learn about so many things this area has to offer.

The social media community has also played a large role in where we are today. It has helped get our name out there and I have had some wonderful clients whom I now consider friends. I truly appreciate every single purchase, every booking, and every referral. Owning a business with a toddler is hard work y’all! There’s a quote I’ve seen circling around the internet – “When you buy from a small business, an actual person does a happy dance.” This couldn’t be more true and I want to thank my small community for the support as my big dreams are very slowly coming true.

What is your favorite restaurant in the area? Feel free to name a few!

Oh boy! We love heading to The Brunch Spot for family breakfast after church. We love the very small and homey atmosphere here, where you are treated like family.

Plantation is one of my favorite restaurants on the island because their risotto is bangin. Thank God they are open year round!

The Mainland is a great spot to meet a group of people for a bite and drinks where it is totally acceptable to bring your kids. And their brunch is phenomenal too.

And Fusaro’s is our go to for pizza and meals when we’re super busy at the shop.
