Meet a Mom: Meghan Mosakowski  - Ocean County Moms

Meet Meghan Mosakowski

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?

I am originally from Palisades Park, NJ (have moved twice after that), but are currently residing in Point Pleasant, NJ for the past year!

Child(ren) and Age(s)?

Almost 3 and 8 months.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you.

A lot of people think I’m super disciplined and a “morning person” because I’m usually up at 0400-0500. The truth is, I usually get up because my husband usually yells or shoves me because I don’t hear my alarm (or any alarm). I might be the world’s heaviest sleeper who is married to the world’s lightest sleeper. Whatever works right?

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

I need to thank ALL OF THE MOMS that have paved the way and shared their real, raw, messy and transparent journeys of motherhood. It’s easy to get caught up in what we think motherhood and parenting is, but when we have others who keep it real – it helps keep me grounded for sure! I would also like to thank Google. How did anyone else survive motherhood without asking google “why does my baby/kid…?”

Favorite things to do with your kids?

My son and I love shell collecting on the beach! It’s actually an activity that keeps on giving because you can bring them home to paint and decorate too! If we’re not taking walks on the local boardwalks or beaches, you can find me at the parks pushing them on swings!

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!

Yes! I have been a Team Beachbody Coach for the past 6 years. Before coaching, I was a Registered Nurse in the Critical Care units at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, but transitioned to full time coaching 3 years ago.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

I honestly don’t know where to begin. This is a blog, not a book right? ha. The community and friends that I’ve met over the past 6 years have truly changed my life in a multitude of ways. Between motherhood and the pandemic, it’s been easy to lose touch and drift away from friends. Beachbody has somehow made my social life more riveting and exciting at 35 than it ever was at 25. This  community helps me stay motivated, inspired and accountable to my own personal health/fitness goals, but they have become family. Whether we are meeting up virtually or in person, whether we are on zoom or traveling abroad, and whether we are celebrating wins or lifting one another up during struggles — they are all such an important part of my life and always will be!

What is your favorite restaurant in Ocean County?

This one is tough, because I have a few for different reasons. My all time favorite would have to be Shrimp Box in Point Pleasant Beach because I’ve been going there with my family for as long as I can remember. It’s just casual, comfortable and has the perfect view for a glass of Rosé. The Clams Casino are my favorite thing to eat there! As far as fine dining goes, I’m going to pick Daniel’s Bistro in Point Pleasant Beach. My husband and I have overlooked that place so many times driving home from the Shrimp Box and let me tell you – it is amazing!

What is your favorite activity to do with your child(ren) in Ocean County?

My son is turning 3 this month, so it’s been so much fun to do more activities with him. We’ve been enjoying the Aquarium over at Jenkinsons, the Popcorn Park Zoo, beaches or parks – we just try to get outside as much as we can!

What are your Mom Goals?

My top “Mom Goal” priority is to live my healthiest and happiest life. I know that might sound selfish, but it’s hard (and dare I say impossible) to pour from an empty cup. I am a better mom when I’m healthy, strong, confident and have my head on a swivel. Trust me – I have my days and moments where I struggle hard, but it’s a priority for me to always do my best to be my best so that I can be the best mom possible. Secondly, I’d love to work on patience and finding more of it!
