Meet-a-Mom Monday | Ocean County Moms

Meet Stacey Fink

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I grew up in Hazlet NJ and lived there until I graduated college. After I got married, my husband and I moved to Manchester, NJ where we currently live.
Child(ren) and Age(s)?
I have two amazing daughters – Ages (11) and (9)
One thing people would be surprised to know about you.
In addition to my IBCLC certification, I have a bachelors degree in both Nursing and Public Health. I love to help & educate people. Growing up I never imagined I’d become a nurse or own a business, but here I am!!!
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
Several people have influenced my idea of motherhood and supported me along the way. Yes, parenting is taking care of, educating and loving your little ones, but it’s also so much more! I’ve taken bits and pieces from multiple people in my life and applied them to how I envision being a mom. My husband, who is the most amazing partner and father, along with my parents, family, friends and other moms – have ALL helped me in my parenting journey!
Favorite things to do with your kids?
My favorite thing to do with my daughters is anything that brings joy & peace to our lives in that moment. Sometimes it’s a walk on the boardwalk, other times it’s watching a movie or snuggling. Before the pandemic I was very active in their classroom activities. Observing their day to day, meeting their friends and watching their faces light up when I entered the room is hands down my favorite “past time” activity and something that I’ll treasure forever!
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
I’ve been a Registered Nurse for thirteen years and a Lactation Consultant for seven. In addition to the experience of breastfeeding my own daughters, it was while working as a postpartum nurse that my passion for helping moms breastfeed was “born.” Being able to help parents nourish their babies and navigate “the fourth trimester” is truly a privilege. I started my practice, Lactation Express, in an effort to better serve moms not only in my community, but also worldwide as I offer virtual consults as well as home visits. Making both prenatal and postpartum breastfeeding education & support available is so important in helping moms succeed on their breastfeeding journey – whatever that may be.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
“Empowered women empower women” – I love this quote! When women support each other incredible things happen. I’ve always been a believer that when you get to where you were headed you should turn around and help lift another person up. This community does just that! I’m excited for my continued journey as a small business owner and look forward to connecting with other women, moms & entrepreneurs.
What is your favorite restaurant in Ocean County?
We have a few – Chef Mike’s ABG (Seaside Park) Old Causeway (Manahawkin) & Charlie’s of Bayhead (Bayhead)
What is your favorite activity to do with your child(ren) in Ocean County?
Brunch, beach & boardwalk. There’s something magical about summers down the shore. The smell of pizza and zeppoles, the sound of seagulls and waves crashing – can’t beat it!
What are your Mom Goals?
To be the best version of myself I can be so that in turn I can be the best possible mom to my girls. I want my daughters to feel safe and secure in our relationship at all times and always know, without question, I’m here for them. I want them to know that life isn’t perfect and they aren’t expected to be either. My hope is that they navigate their way through life, creating their OWN path never compromising who they are.
