Meet-a-Mom Monday:Rebecca Tramontano | Ocean County Moms

Meet-a-Mom, Rebecca Tramontano. She is an inspiration to all.  Read all about Rebecca to find out about her two awesome businesses as well as how she is an amazing foster mom.

Where are you originally from & how long have you lived in town?

I was born & raised in Manahawkin, Ocean County.  I have also lived in Maui, Hawaii for 2 years, following the very unique & spectacular experience of working with children and running the programs on a Norwegian Cruise ship that was cruising through the Hawaiian Islands.

Child(ren) and Age(s)?

12-year-old Bonus daughter (stepdaughter) & as a proud foster Parent we care for individuals & sibling groups from infancy – 12 years of age.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you.

In addition to countless hours of child psychology, & childhood education courses, I completed all the requirements for drug & alcohol certification courses.

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

First and foremost, I am thankful for the grace and guidance God has given me throughout my journey in parenthood. Of course, I am blessed to be on this wild Foster-to-adopt journey with my loving husband Dominick and am very thankful for his hard work and support. I would not be the person I am today, or the parent without the unwavering support & unconditional love of my parents Cyndi & Paul Clauss. Anyone who knows them knows their 38-year marriage is very unique & admirable.  Their united parenting techniques have guided me tremendously in all my interactions with & parenting of children.

Favorite things to do with your kids?

We love to live an active lifestyle that involves the outdoors which provides a multitude of entertainment and learning opportunities for the children we are blessed to raise, (whether on a temporary or permanent basis). We of course love our Ocean County beach days which include walks, surfing, water and sand play and games of all sorts.  Some of our favorite adventures involve hiking and exploring in the woods, especially around streams and waterfalls for day trips or while Camping out.  We also like to try adventure courses & travel to new places.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!

YES! 2 businesses

I’m a virtual fitness and nutrition accountability coach and I work with my customers to get them the right fitness and nutrition programs, as well as supplements, to help them reach their goals! My team of coaches and I run monthly virtual groups and we cheer one another on as we work on individual goals! This is my favorite part because it’s more than just fitness and nutrition accountability, it’s family. We share our ups and downs of LIFE. And that’s what makes our groups so different and unique.  Inspiring women to become the best version of themselves, which comes through making themselves a priority, so they can pour out into their loved ones more effectively.

Also, my husband and I own a small family business called Northwind Produce.  We sell Fresh Produce, wholesale to numerous restaurants, dinners & pizzerias throughout Ocean County.  We also offer home delivery of fresh and affordable produce to local families in our community.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

Having a supportive community within my church has been very helpful especially throughout our foster care journey, as they have provided emotional support as well as donations of needed items for our children.

Through Northwind Produce, we are able to assist others by donating to families who have found themselves in tough times, and we would not be able to accomplish this without the communities’ support by helping to spread the word that we are here to help.

What is your favorite activity to do with your children in Ocean County?

Especially, this time of year, we love to visit Long Beach Island, several times a week, and go surfing, swimming and walking on the beach.

What is your favorite restaurant in Ocean County?

Sweet Jennys, run by an amazing business owner and friendly staff.

What are your mom goals?

My mom goals for my step daughter is to continue guiding her & teaching her navigate through her pre-teen & teen years, and teach her how to be an independent successful member of society.

For my Foster children, my goals are slightly different; as most of them come from hard places. I take the extra step to make them feel unconditional love, adjusted, along with giving them extra structure, stability and any additional help they may need.
